Founded in 1987 by Dr. Alice Mills, Lexington Hospital for Cats is a full-service veterinary hospital dedicated to the unique needs of cats and their owners. We are the only practice in Central Kentucky that is limited exclusively to cats.
At Lexington Hospital for Cats, you can find several complete lines of prescription diets, maintenance diets, pet and grooming supplies, and flea products. We also offer house calls at no additional charge to our homebound clients.
Our goal is to provide your cat with the most comprehensive veterinary care possible.
For us, that means keeping you informed and educated about what you can do to make your cat's life a healthier and happier one. At Lexington Hospital for Cats, we work with you to form the caring team that ensures a healthy life for your cat.
During your first visit, we will schedule extra time to help us get to know you and your pet. You will get tips on grooming, disease prevention, nutrition, behavior, and how to identify your cat's problems or needs.
Our difference is in the details. We pay special attention to pain control during and after surgery because we care about your cat's comfort, and we know that a painful experience may alter the personality of your unique companion. When your cat has reached his or her golden years, his or her problems are not dismissed as "old age." Our senior felines are treated with the dignity they deserve and the expectation that they can lead healthy, active lives well into their teens or twenties.
We follow the national vaccination guidelines of the Academy of Feline Medicine and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. This means your cat gets only the vaccinations necessary for good health.
