Dr. Scott M Soulier graduated from the California College of Podiatric Medicine in San Francisco in 1976. He served in the U.S. Army as a podiatrist at Ft. Eustis, Virginia (Newport News). In 1978, when he finished his service / advanced podiatric training in the military, he returned to Salt Lake City and opened his practice of podiatric medicine, surgery of the foot and ankle, and diabetes foot care on 3900 South and 1100 East. He joined the practices of the now retired Drs. Blaine C. Grose and Max Jones, both podiatrists. Dr. Soulier was a 7th grader at Midvale Junior High School when his father took him to Dr. Grose for the care of an ingrown toenail - an event that piqued his interest in becoming a podiatrist himself. In 2001, he and his current associate, Dr. Spence D. Harper moved their office to the current location at 4578 South Highland Drive in Salt Lake City.

Dr. Soulier is pleased to provide services that relieve patient's painful foot problems that cover the full range of common foot and ankle problems. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Surgery in both foot and ankle surgery. As a past board member and Vice-President of the American Diabetes Association, Utah Affiliate, Dr. Soulier has developed interest and experience in prevention of and crisis care for serious foot problems in the diabetic population. Many patients obtain relief from ingrown toenails, bunions, hammertoes, painful corns and calluses, fractures, ankle sprains and instability and other complaints. He maintains his own orthotic lab and makes these "arch supports" himself on site while offering a line of OTC orthotics, too. Many people see him regularly for simple, maintenance care of nails and calluses. A prominent feature in the office is the display of Dr. Comfort shoes that many patients have come to love. These shoes meet the rigorous requirements of Medicare for the diabetic therapeutic shoe program for those diabetic patients who meet the criteria for coverage. In the case where insurance coverage is not available, the shoes retail competatively with other high quality walking shoes like S.A.S.

Dr. Soulier's early years of private practice included a return to academia and the earning of a Master's Degree in Public Health from the University of Utah in 1981. He has used that degree to design, conduct, serve as principle investigator or sub-investigator for a number of research protocols. He is actively involved with MountainWest Foot & Ankle, a consortium of Utah podiatrists who also have an interst in participating in medical research.

Dr. Soulier has twice served as President of the Utah Podiatric Medical Association. He is currently the Chief of the Division of Podiatric Surgery at St. Mark's Hospital and has served in that same position twice at LDS Hospital and recently at the new Intermountain Medical Center in Murray.

Best of all, Dr. Soulier has a loving family consisting of his wife of 35+ years, Barbara, 2 daughters and 3 sons, who have blessed him with 13 grandchildren - evidence of whom is easily seen on the walls and taped to the side of his computer in the office - many pictures of the young ones. He also has his gallery of scouting pictures showing his love for young men and their growth within the Boy Scout program. Many of his fondest memories are centered in those outdoor experiences with young men who have now grown and started their own families and scout troops themselves.
